Dr. Mary Mancuso Supports Vets Chat & Chew

We were proud to support local veterans at the Chat & Chew event held in Fair Lawn. Dr. Mary Mancuso and her team believe in giving back to the community that has supported our practice for over 30 years.

At this event, veterans gathered for food, conversation, and appreciation. We were honored to contribute to an afternoon focused on connection, gratitude, and shared experience.

Supporting our veterans isn’t just a gesture, it reflects our values as a practice built on care and service. Thank you to all who served, and to those who organized this meaningful event.

Is your child drinking too much juice?

Juice is often seen as a healthy option, but most fruit juices are high in natural sugars that can contribute to tooth decay. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends limiting juice intake in children and advises that children under 1 year old should not consume any juice at all.

Instead of juice, encourage your child to drink water or eat whole fruits, which contain fiber and fewer sugars that stick to the teeth. If your child does have juice, serve it only with meals and never in a bottle or sippy cup that they carry around all day.

Dental decay in children often starts early — and sugar-heavy drinks are a major contributor. At our Fair Lawn dental office, Dr. Mancuso and her team provide education and prevention strategies to help families protect their children’s teeth.

Getting the most from your dental insurance

As another year winds down, we want to remind you to take advantage of your unused insurance benefits, as most companies do not allow you to carry these over to the next year.

Most insurance runs on a calendar year, which means on December 31st, any unused benefits are lost. If you are in need of dental treatment, but have been putting it off, it’s important to realize that you are not only risking more expensive and extensive treatment down the road. Those are YOUR benefits! You have earned those benefits by either paying for them, or working for them! Why throw them away? Why pay another deductible? Why run the risk of a fee increases?

And if you do not have any recommended treatment, this may be the perfect time for cosmetic enhancements, like teeth whitening, or bonding. By completing this treatment before the end of the year, you can maximize your insurance benefits, while enjoying better dental health.

Dr. Mancuso visits Middle School Students

Dr. Mancuso has spent numerous days educating middle school students about the importance of oral health, and it’s role in promoting good overall health.  She most recently visited the children at the Garfield Middle School where the students learned how to properly brush and care for their teeth at home.  The children presented this poster to Dr. Mancuso, thanking her for her visit.

Dental Visits

The American Dental Association recommends two dental visits each year, but many people require more frequent visits to keep their mouth healthy.  To help those without dental insurance, Dr. Mancuso has created an In-Office Dental Savings Plan which enable patients to receive the recommended dental visits with savings up to 50% off standard fees.
